I almost didn’t buy Titanfall 2. While I loved Titanfall, the tech test Respawn put out a couple of weeks before the release of TF2 was horrible. They only included new multiplayer modes, and appeared to shun what made Titanfall so great: Titans. In my short time with the tech test, Titans were almost nowhere to be found.
Thankfully, the full game included not only the old modes I was used to playing (Attrition: Titans galore!), but it also included a full single player campaign. Titanfall had a rough campaign mode, but it was essentially just multiplayer with some narration shoved in before and after each game. TF2’s campaign is fully formed and pretty great. I usually don’t play campaigns in this type of game more than once, but TF2’s campaign was intriguing enough to make me want to go back and play it again at some point in the future.
Overall, I’m highly impressed with Titanfall 2’s complete package. It’s just a shame they may have alienated a lot of their old fan base with that terrible tech test right before launch.
